SOUNDPIECES
Soundpieces is a collective of tastemakers throwing top-shelf nightlife events on the west coast. I designed and implemented their first website soundpiecesmusic.com.
The design is full-screen and tailored for landscape and portrait orientations. Upcoming events are dispersed across several cities each with their own color palette.
This Century Modern
Bold typography and playful colors confidently display event information.
Visual embellishments were inspired by modern currency.

Critical Rendering Path
Optimizing the critical rendering path allows the browser to paint the page as quickly as possible: faster pages translate into higher engagement and improved conversion.
The first round trip to the server only includes resources for the loading screen.
All other resources are downloaded asynchronously.
The entrance animation triggers when the first event is ready to display.
Color Co-ordinated
Colors within a city's palette are naturally related. The palette is applied to all on-screen elements: Logo, Money Strip, and Background.
This has the effect of reducing the cognitive load required to discern an events' city.
